Today my class mates and I were brought on a trip to Dublin city centre to the European commission offices and the national art gallery by our European studies teacher Ms Flanagan and an SNA named Joe. We also had an hour to get some lunch and to look around the shops.
Both students and teachers got the public bus this morning at 9:10am. The bus journey up was exciting because we were all buzzing to go into the city centre. We got off at O'Connell street and walked over by Aston quay. We were all paying close attention as we had to all meet back there at 2:00pm. It was quite a long walk so I Vlogged with my close class mates.
European commission offices: We arrived in the offices at the scheduled time and we went into a room with a presentation screen, two people came into give us a 10 minute presentation, to show a movie and to do a quiz. I learned a lot about the European commission, like that there is 28 states in Europe and 24 official languages. Our team "Feens" lost because we only got 16 points... Over all it was really good.
National Art Gallery: When we went into the gallery we put our bags and coats into a huge locker, then split up into two groups with the tour guides. The girls went into one group and the boys went into the other. We went to the turner expedition because its only out in January because thats when the lights are at its dullest. The room all the paintings are in is dark with dim lights in it. I was stunned by all the paintings and sculptures in the whole gallery. Some were very realistic and some where hard to make out. The tour lasted an hour and it was full of information, after we got our bags our whole class went in and bought Caravaggio's painting postcard which cost 60 cents.
Lunch and shopping: Robyn, Leon and I walked to Mc Donalds (Wednesday is my cheat day.. yess!!) We seen a few of our class mates in there, it was packed so we found it hard to get seats but we finally got somewhere to sit. We had our food and planned to go into Lush which is a shop that sell bath bombs, soaps ands things like that. While walking down the stairs in Mc Donalds Robyn fell and we were both in hysterics laughing. anyways carry on we went to lush and I bought two colourful, amazing scented bath bombs!!
It was then time to sadly go home, we hopped on the bus and off we went. It was an amazing day and we arrived back at school for our last class. The last 20 minutes of class we blared the tunes and cleaned our room.
